‘Gotham’: New Details On Solomon Grundy & Sofia Falcone’s Roles In Season 4 Revealed

Gotham Sofia Falcone Solomon Grundy
The previous season of Gotham concluded with Drew Powell’s Butch being shot in the head by Barbara Kean, though viewers later learned that he was being kept alive on life support in the hospital, where doctors discovered that his birth name was Cyrus Gold. Of course, comic book fans immediately recognized the name as the alter-ego of Solomon Grundy, a towering reanimated corpse who has been an antagonist to DC Comics heroes including Batman and Superman. In an interview with DC All Access, Powell teased Grundy’s eventual appearance on the series while executive producer John Stephens discussed Sofia Falcone’s role in the fourth season.

Powell revealed when fans can expect to see Grundy make his first appearance on the show and how he has been preparing for the role:

“What we can now tell you, officially, he will be rising up as Solomon Grundy. So, that happens around episode 5, I think, in season four. I haven’t even shot that yet, but we’ve been prepping and I’ve been training and I’ve been getting the wardrobe and the hair and makeup sorted. Because it’s a big deal!”

Meanwhile, Stephen’s discussed the intention behind the new alliance that is formed between Jim Gordon and Sofia Falcone:

“Jim Gordon is going to try to loosen Penguin’s hold on Gotham. He does that by forming an alliance with Sofia Falcone, who Crystal Reed is playing, and the two of them work together to bascially try to dethrone Penguin.”
