‘Greatest American Hero’ Pilot Given Production Commitment From Fox

A production commitment has been given to Greatest American Hero  Pilot from Fox. This reboot of the cult classic 1981 superhero series is apparently on the way with Dope writer-director Rick Famuyiwa set to write and direct the pilot with Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie, 21 Jumpstreet) also executive producing this project.

Greatest American Hero was a 1981 comedic superhero series about a man unlucky (or lucky) enough to find an alien suit and become a bumbling superhero. The series has kept a loyal following throughout the years and Fox probably hopes to tap into that loyal fanbase.

The theme song is also possibly more famous than the actual series. You can check it out here:

I watched several episodes of the show and I quite enjoyed it so I hope that this new pilot captures the energy and the fun of the original series.

Do we have any of Greatest American Hero Fans? Are you excited about it possibly coming back? Sound off in the comments!
