‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2’: EW Cover & New Images Hit The Web

Guardians
The cast of Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is gracing the cover of Entertainment Weekly this week as part of the magazine’s summer movie preview.

The new film picks up three years after the Guardians saved the galaxy in the first film as the heroes go on a quest to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s roots and find his father, Ego the Living Planet.

In addition to the cover, the magazine has also released seven new images which offer a look at the returning cast and newcomers Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha and Pom Klementieff as Mantis, as well as a behind the scenes, look at director James Gunn on set with Michael Rooker as Yondu.

Written and directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kurt Russell. Here’s the official synopsis:

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 hits theaters May 5, 2017.
