Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has just made it through its opening weekend, but plans for a third installment of the film series are already underway. With director James Gunn returning to helm the next film, fans are eager to see what adventures await the Guardians after a post-credits scene in Vol. 2 teased the arrival of comic book character Adam Warlock. Though Ayesha, played by Elizabeth Debicki, is responsible for Adam’s creation, fans have been wondering if the Sovereign villain would be returning for the third film. In an interview with IGN, James Gunn revealed that he does in fact have plans to include Ayesha in the next film.

Gunn confirmed that he intends on having Debicki reprise her role as Ayesha.

“I absolutely plan on bringing Elizabeth Debicki back. She’s actually one of my favorite actors I’ve ever worked with. I think on this movie between her, Pom Klementieff who plays Mantis, and Chris Sullivan who plays Taserface, they really were three of the best actors I’ve ever worked with and were all such a joy on this film to deal with that I would love to deal with them again.”
