‘Guardians Of The Galaxy: Vol. 2’ Soundtrack Goes Gold

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 James Gunn MarvelJames Gunn announced on his Facebook page Thursday that the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 has officially gone Gold. Gunn said:

“Proud to announce that Awesome Mix soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has just gone GOLD with over 500 thousand units sold in the US and over 1 million global album sales.”

The sequel takes the integration of classic songs from the first movie to a whole new level, with entire subplots devoted to songs from the film’s soundtrack. In one notable scene, Ego (Kurt Russell) talks to Peter (Chris Pratt) about how the song “Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)” is just like the love story between him and Peter’s mother. In another scene, Rocket asks if there is any of Peter’s old music on board the Ravagers freighter as Yondu takes control of the ship. The song “Come A Little Bit Closer” plays while this happens, with the mutineers dying by Yondu’s arrow in a way almost choreographed to the song.

7 Green Lantern Stories We’d Love To See Adapted For The Big Screen

Previous1 of 8

Green Lantern CorpsThere were no major Green Lantern characters in Justice League, but the hero is eventually set to hit the big screen again in 2020 with Green Lantern Corps. The real mystery is what kind of Lantern stories will the movie have and who will wield a ring? The only thing I know is it’s not a good idea to wait for Ryan “Deadpool” Reynolds to mutter the Green Lantern oath on the big screen anytime soon.

There are so many stories and unique Green Lanterns the movie could draw from, so at the end of the day I hope the material is treated with the respect it deserves.  It took some hard work, but I whittled my favorite stories down to this list of seven easily adaptable arc that show off some of the action and emotion Green Lantern has to offer. Don’t expect to recommend any simple origin stories here, though — man-oh-man am I tired of seeing those.
