‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2’ Easter Eggs & Other…

Howard The Duck

One of the most interesting post-credits stingers from the original Guardians of the Galaxy movie was when Howard the Duck was revealed to be in the Collectors collection. Many think of the anthropomorphic character from the poorly received Lucasfilm movie from 1986. Little did they know that he was a long-standing character from Marvel comics ever since the 1970s. The stinger at the end of the first film was a great way to resurrect the character in the public lexicon, to the point that Marvel decided to bring the character back in 2015 as part of their “All New All Different Marvel” launch.

Of course, he had to appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and have a cameo. It appears that he is no longer a part of the Collector’s stable in Knowhere and is on his own. When the audience is first introduced to the Ravagers in the film partying away on the planet Contraxia, Howard is seen enjoying a drink (again). As he is sharing a drink at the bar, he utters out a line in reference to his prowess.

“You’re out of luck until you’ve got duck.”

While there is no Howard the Duck movie on the horizon, it looks like we can expect a cameo from him (hopefully) in future Guardians movies.
