‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Dominating Home Video Sales Charts

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was one of the most successful movies of the summer. The follow-up to the 2014 surprise hit has grossed $389.4 million nationwide as of late and has recently been released on Digital HD, DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and has now become the first Disney movie released on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.

Home video sales for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are dominating the charts. According to NPD VideoScan data, the hit sequel is outselling the rest of the top 10 sellers combined three times over.

The successful sales for the sequel also catapulted the original Guardians of the Galaxy back to the top 10 disc sales. The first film directed by James Gunn peaked at the No. 6 spot on the charts.

5 Reasons ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Is Better Than The Original

Previous1 of 6

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2When Guardians of the Galaxy hit cinemas in 2014 it surprised everyone. Offering a unique blend of whiz-bang intergalactic excitement, a groovy out-of-this-world soundtrack, a smörgåsbord of oddball characters, and wacky rib-clutching comedy, Guardians had it all. It was definitely the Marvel movie to beat… until Vol. 2 came out.

Offering the same blend of winning ingredients, but amping up the story, the characters, and the emotional resonance, Guardians Vol. 2 accomplishes the rare sequel feat of being even better than the original. A lot of people will disagree with me, but I believe the first film, while excellent, had certain storytelling flaws, which the sequel was able to remarkably overcome. The result is a brand-spanking new adventure for Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot, that improves upon the original in several ways.

Here are the five reasons why Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is better than the original. Click next to blast off! Please note that SPOILERS for  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will follow!
