Thanks to a recent post to social media, fans now know that John Carpenter, the creative mind behind the original Halloween, is set to score the newest sequel.
When news first broke about the new Halloween sequel, some of the first things fans learned were that Carpenter was set to be a creative consultant and an executive producer, as well as that Jamie Lee Curtis is set to return. One rumor that accompanied these pieces of news was the Carpenter was to score the new movie, just as he did for the original Halloween. This rumor was confirmed last night when Jason Blum confirmed on Twitter that he was to score the film:

Along with Carpenter returning to score and Curtis returning as Laurie Strode, Nick Castle is set to reprise his role as the serial killer Michael Myers. Judy Greer is set to play Laurie’s daughter, Karen Strode, with the lead being played by Andi Matichak, who is set to play the granddaughter of Laurie and daughter of Karen.
This rendition of Halloween is the first movie in the franchise since the critically panned Halloween: Resurrection in 2002. It is also set to come out a week before the 40th anniversary of the first film, which premiered in 1978.
