‘Hamilton’ Star Lin-Manuel Miranda Wants To Play Carnage

carnageGiven the size that the comic book genre has gotten on the big screen, it’s not uncommon these days to hear actors express interest of joining this or that franchise as part of a superhero franchise. During an episode of Meet The Movie Press, host Simon Thompson revealed that Broadway actor, playwright and compser Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), apparently has high interest of wanting to play the villainous Carnage, one of the biggest Spider-Man villains in the comics.

According to the host, Manuel Miranda is a huge fan of the character and even goes on to specify what sort of story he would sign on for in a heartbeat.

“He (Miranda) is a big fan of Marvel. There is one particular character that he would actually like to play, that he has already specified. It’s Carnage. He said if Disney and Marvel were looking at doing a Maximum Carnage movie or bringing Carnage in [the Marvel Cinematic Universe] as a character, he wants to be Carnage. Genuinely as a fan, he would love to play Carnage. That is a goal of his.”

With the Spider-Man franchise getting restarted under the Marvel umbrella this time, perhaps his dream can come true one day, or perhaps through the Venom solo-film in development from Sony, depending on what the story is there. Would you like to see Lin-Manuel Miranda portray him on the big screen? Sound off in the comments below.

I would love to see Carnage brought to life in an R-rated Spidey/Venom team-up.

Hahah Marvel would never do anything close to dark enough to do a Carnage film

Lol, no. The actor? Sure I guess. But stick to Venom in the MCU or with Sony.

Carnage is a psychopathic serial killer monster…I have wanted a “Venom & Carnage” Netflix series that is extremely dark and evil (Venom the sorta anti-hero, Carnage a insane murderous monster freak) but the Netflix shows don’t get a big enough budget for that CGI I imagine and also it would be risky and not popular to a wide audience.

A PG-13 version of Carnage basically isn’t Carnage, so I’ll pass.

This would be awesome…Yes, Marvel might have to push this a bit, but when an actor of this caliber is this enthusiastic about working with you, you just gotta find a way to make it work.

I don’t see him a Carnage, but I do see him as Don Carnage from TaleSpin
