Lawrence Kasdan Reveals When The Han Solo Prequel Film Takes Place

Lawrence Kasdan recently chatted with Indiewire and revealed some new details about the upcoming Han Solo prequel film. Were you worried that the film was going to go too far back in time and explain more than we needed to know about the character? Well, this might ease those fears as a bit as the long-time Star Wars scribe revealed the film will take place roughly 10 years prior to the events of Star Wars: A New Hope.

[The film] will not be, “Here’s where he was born and this is how he was raised.” I think what it will be is what was he like 10 years earlier [than A New Hope]—maybe a little earlier, you’ll get a glimpse. But Kurosawa once said the heroes are the ones that are still changing and the villains are locked and petrified into what they are, and Harrison embodies in Force Awakens someone who is still not settled on who he is.

Very curious to what route they go with this one. Could the film possibly focus on the events that bring Chewbacca and Solo together perhaps? Let us know your thoughts on this one in the comments section below. The currently untitled Han Solo prequel is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.
