Last year, we found out that Disney and Lucasfilm were reportedly testing more than 2,500 young actors for the role of Han Solo and it appears that the two studios have now narrowed down the hunt for their lead actor to a much smaller group, which includes a lot of familiar names despite rumors that they were looking to cast an uknown actor.
According to Variety, the short-list for the much coveted role includes: Dave Franco, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Logan Lerman, Scott Eastwood, Jack Reynor, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner. These eight actors will begin testing for the role in just a few days with producer Kathlen Kennedy and, of course, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, in order to make a final decision within the next two weeks.
The currently untitled spin-off is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018, but the trade reveals that the plan is to have the actor cameo in Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is currently filming. What do you guys think? Sound-off your thoughts in the comment section.
