Although the Han Solo spin-off has yet to complete principal photography, Lucasfilm has already held a wrap party for the troubled production.
While stars such as Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, and Paul Bettany have already finished shooting their scenes, production is scheduled to continue for at least another week. Luke Scott — a stuntman working on the film — shared a photo from the wrap party that took place over the weekend that included director Ron Howard who took over the directorial responsibilities in June after Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were fired off of the project.
Officially, Lord and Miller had no choice but to exit the project due to creative differences with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, however, the duo reportedly clashed with Kennedy since production on the project began at the end of last January. At that time of their firing, the project had only three weeks of principal photography left. Howard was brought on board in an effort to maintain the film’s scheduled May 2018 release date, which the film’s remains slated for.
According to Mashable, a source close to the production has confirmed the party held over the weekend was indeed the production’s wrap party. Howard himself also recently confirmed the project was almost finished shooting.
Almost finished shooting but months of post production work ahead. Tremendous team so lots to look forward to creatively https://t.co/yLurHhcmpv

Plot details are still under wraps but the film is set to chronicle the young Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, from years of 18-24 in his life and will include meeting Chewbacca and finding (or perhaps winning) the Millennium Falcon. Kennedy has previously described the film as a western with a color palette influenced by the paintings of Frederic Remington.
The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story has been written by Lawrence Kasdan and son Jon Kasdan. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo along with Joonas Suotomo as Chewbacca and Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian. The cast also includes Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Ian Kenny and Paul Bettany.
The Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story is currently slated for release on May 25, 2018. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise as we learn it.
