FOX’s Batman prequel series, Gotham, is officially returning tonight from its hiatus to continue its third crazy season. The show never holds back with introducing several of the Dark Knight’s biggest villains early on in Bruce Wayne’s life, going as far as potentially setting up the Joker of this universe in Jerome Valeska’s character.
However, it appears that another big iconic baddie from the Caped Crusader’s Rogues Gallery is getting ready to make her debut on the show. In a new interview with TV Guide, John Stephens, who is the executive producer of the series, teased that the character of Harleen Quinzel a.k.a. Harley Quinn is going to be introduced in the season three finale.
“We might see [her] in Episode 22.”
While it was a tease, Stephens did describe the debut of this character as the “launching point” for the main storyline in the fourth season. Despite the “might” part of his comment, it seems very clear that Joker’s iconic partner is popping up this season.
However, it should be pointed out that while Stephens does talk about Harley being set up for Season 4, FOX has yet to renew Gotham. In addition, no official date has been set yet for the season finale by the network.
The character of Harley Quinn is currently being portrayed by Margot Robbie in the DC Extended Universe. Her first appearance was David Ayer’s Suicide Squad movie and Robbie is set to reprise and executive produce the Gotham City Sirens movie.
Gotham Season 3 returns with new episodes on Monday, January 16 at 8/7c on FOX. Make sure to check back at Heroic Hollywood after every single episode of Season 3 for our weekly reviews.
