HBO’s ‘Westworld’ Renewed For Second Season

For fans of HBO’s sci-fi epic Westworld, one question has been answered, the show will be moving forward with a second season. This news is not surprising, many sources involved with the show indicated that they have a lot of stories to tell and could easily start working on a second season.

HBO released a teaser video following the announcement.

The first season has been successful for HBO, capturing some of that Game of Thrones momentum on Sunday evenings. HBO’s president of programming, Casey Bloys, discussed Westworld and the plans for future seasons going forward.

“I want to get a very complete picture of the ratings, which seem to be doing very well, so we’re happy with that. [The executive producers are] going to talk to us about what they envision a second season being. But right now I would say it’s looking really good. We’re very pleased with how it’s doing.”

Bloys was also asked about what fans would be experiencing with the second half of season one of Westworld and if their questions would finally start to be answered.

“All I would say is, it’s a very satisfying end. I think questions will be answered. I love reading the fan theories online. I think it’s great the way people have engaged. I’m just pleased to see the reception from an engagement point of view, and that it has started all of these conversations. I think people will get the answers they’re looking for by the end of Season One. A lot of the ones that people are buzzing about.”

One major fan theory was answered during last night’s episode. Heroic Hollywood has been recapping the entire first season of Westworld, read our latest recap here and find out what the big reveal was.
