‘Hellboy’ Reboot Adds ‘Deadpool’ Actor Ed Skrein

Hellboy Ed SkreinThe Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Ed Skrein, best known to comic book fans for his performance as the villain Ajax in Deadpool, has joined the cast of the upcoming Hellboy reboot.

Skrein is set to play Major Ben Daimio, a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense’s military who has the ability to turn into a jaguar when angered or in pain thanks to a supernatural encounter. The actor joins David Harbour (Stranger Things) who stars in the titular role as Hellboy, Ian McShane as Hellboy’s adoptive father, American Honey breakout Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan and Milla Jovovich as the film’s villain, the Blood Queen.

Lionsgate will be distributing the Millennium Films production with Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin producing. Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment will also produce. Principal photography is set to commence early as this September with filming taking place in both the UK and Bulgaria. The film is being directed by Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones).
