Superman actor Henry Cavill gets a comic book-accurate Wolverine look to replace Hugh Jackman as the X-Men hero in a new fan edit.
Hugh Jackman played Wolverine for nearly 17 years. After bringing Wolverine to life in 2000’s X-Men, Jackman would go on to play the mutant a total of nine times. Jackman’s final appearance as Wolverine came in the James Mangold-directed X-Men spin-off Logan, which fittingly ended the actor’s run as the fan-favorite hero. This has left many fans wondering who’ll replace Jackman as Wolverine and some seem to think that Superman actor Henry Cavill might be the perfect man for the job.
Henry Cavill is undoubtedly best known for his role as Superman in the DC Extended Universe. The British actor has played the DC Comics icon a total of three times in the Warner Bros. franchise. However, the mixed reception to his second film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the underperformance of Justice League has reportedly put his future as the character in jeopardy. Assuming that he does not reprise the role, fans have another superhero role in mind for the Superman actor.
Earlier this month, digital artist Dalton “Checkers” Barrett took to Instagram to show off a cool fan edit that depicts Superman actor Henry Cavill as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine successor. The concept imagines Cavill in a comic book-accurate Wolverine suit for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can check it out below.
