An awesome new concept design imagines The Witcher star Henry Cavill as the Kingdom Come version of Superman for the DC Extended Universe.
While it might be some time till fans see Henry Cavill return to the cape and tights as Superman in the DC Extended Universe, a new fan edit shows the British actor wearing the incredible Kingdom Come Superman outfit. The Kingdom Come storyline by Mark Waid and Alex Ross followed an ageing group of heroes who go up against a vicious new brand of vigilantes. The arc is a favorite among fans, and we most recently saw the Kingdom Come costume in live-action when Brandon Routh returned to play the Last Son of Krypton in Crisis On Infinite Earths.
The new Kingdom Come design of Henry Cavill arrived on Instagram thanks to digital artist ‘rinsh_art’, and shows what a version of the iconic suit could look like in the DCEU. The “S” symbol on his chest has been replaced with a solid looking redesign matching the comics, while Cavill’s hair has been given streaks of gray to show that this is a much older Man of Steel. In the caption, the artist wondered if the suit will ever make it to the big screen, before noting how good Brandon Routh’s version was in The CW crossover. Take a look at Henry Cavill’s Kingdom Come Superman below.
