Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel offered audiences a take on Superman that was in contrast to the traditionally bright and optimistic version of the character depicted in the comics. Although the film opened to mixed reviews, a sizable group of fans is eager to see this incarnation of Superman return in a direct sequel to Man of Steel and actor Henry Cavill revealed which Superman story would like to adapt for the big screen during an interview with Square Mile.
Last month, Henry Cavill revealed that Superman: For Tomorrow is his favorite story about the Last Son of Krypton and now the actor has stated he would like to see a similar storyline in a future film about the DC hero:
“[It is] one of my favourite comic books. I would definitely like to tell a story like that.”
Fans who are hoping future Superman films will feature a more traditional version of the character may be pleased to hear Henry Cavill stated that there is an opportunity to provide a more inspiring take on DC hero:
“There’s an opportunity to keep on telling Superman stories, and getting them exactly right. Showing the things like hope and joy and that wonderful power of his to make people believe in themselves.”
Created by artist Jim Lee, writer Brian Azzarello, inker Scott Williams, and colorist by Alex Sinclair, Superman: For Tomorrow involved the titular hero coping with his guilt and the loss of Lois Lane after a million people mysteriously vanished from Earth.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Richard Shiff, and Russell Crowe.
Man of Steel is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD.

10 DC Comics Heroes That Should Be In The Next ‘Justice League’ Movie
The Justice League is DC’s premiere superhero team. These characters are the biggest names in the DC Comics universe. Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie introduced six members to audiences in the form of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash.
Despite the first Justice League film underperforming, there appears to be a sequel in some form of active development over at Warner Brothers. Based on the first film’s post-post scene, the team could be facing off against the Legion of Doom, so it appears the Justice League may need some extra assistance. Luckily there is a wide array of DC characters from the comics to pull from to strengthen the team’s roster.
