Henry Cavill Superman Man of Steel Justice LeagueJustice League star Henry Cavill gets the classic Superman look in a fan-made image that shows the British actor with the character’s iconic red trunks.

For Man of Steel, Zack Snyder made the creative decision to remove the red underwear for Henry Cavill’s Superman outfit. While the underwear-less Superman costume became prominent in DC’s New 52 run before then, Cavill was the first to not wear the red trunks in live-action. Other live-action takes on Superman have since followed with the modern look, with Tyler Hoechlin sporting a similar outfit in the Arrowverse.

In the highly-anticipated Zack Snyder Cut of Justice League, Henry Cavill will be marking another milestone in terms of visual flair by bringing the black suit from Death of Superman story arc to live-action. Because Cavill has become many fan’s quintessential Superman, some would like to see the British actor in the red underwear at some point in the future. Snyder has shared images of Henry Cavill in the Christopher Reeve suit for screen tests from the past, but this fan art from Instagram user “jph_photoshop” takes things one step further.
