Superman Actor Henry Cavill Becomes The Sentry For Marvel Studios In Awesome Fan Art

Henry Cavill Superman The Sentry Marvel Studios

An awesome new piece of fan art transforms Superman actor Henry Cavill into The Sentry for Marvel Studios.

The Sentry was created in 2000 as a pastiche of Superman, leading what would become a deconstructive story about a Golden Age superhero and the mental health issues that came along with his powers. As it’s speculated that Marvel Studios may be building towards an adaptation of Dark Avengers, the Sentry’s introduction may be necessary, since he was a major component of that storyline.

Since Henry Cavill and Warner Bros. have seemingly parted ways on Superman, rumors have circulated that Marvel Studios may snatch the 36-year-old actor up for a role. A digital artist known as “Death.Streak007” on Instagram speculated that this role may be for the Sentry as a bit of stunt-casting, and as such, reimagined Henry Cavill’s fan-favorite Mission: Impossible character as Marvel’s tragic version of Superman. As it stands, Marvel Studios seem to be more interested in expanding the horizons of the Marvel Cinematic Universe rather than doing the safe thing and filling their slate with more Avengers films, so it’s entirely possible that Henry Cavill is cast as a hero like Captain Britain instead. But really, who knows? Superman may have kickstarted Henry Cavill’s rise to fame, but it could still be possible that he’s done with superhero films, at least for now.

Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Superman actor Henry Cavill, the Sentry, and Marvel Studios.
