See Henry Cavill Soar In Updated Max Fleischer Superman Suit

Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a new Superman design!

Justice League star Henry Cavill steps into an updated version of the Max Fleischer Superman suit in an impressive new concept design.

Although Henry Cavill’s Superman got a modern redesign when he arrived in the DC Extended Universe, a new design takes an inspiration from the character’s Max Fleischer costume seen in the 1940s cartoons. Most recently, Zack Snyder confirmed that when fans next see Cavill in his Justice League cut, Superman will be at his peak. Whether we’ll see the hero in a different costume in the director’s original vision for the film remains to be seen, but many fans are hoping to see him in the iconic black suit.

Henry Cavill was given a brand new costume to soar across the skies thanks to digital artist “barrett.digital”on Instagram. We’ve previously seen a Max Fleischer inspired costume for the hero, but this new artwork makes the classic look feel a lot more modern. The fan edit takes a few cues from the New 52 era with the collar and the longer sleeves, but it’s the light blue and black color scheme that makes this suit really stand out. Cavill’s chest symbol also matches the old school look, but still looks suitably modern. While it would be surprising to see a costume like this make it to the big screen, it would definitely be a treat. Take a look at the Max Fleischer Superman artwork below.

What do you think of the updated Max Fleischer Superman design? Should Henry Cavill’s Superman get a new suit the next time he appears in the DCEU? Let us know in the comments!

Henry Cavill’s Superman will next be seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut on HBO Max. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut will arrive on HBO Max in 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Henry Cavill’s Superman and the DC Extended Universe, and make sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more video content!
