Heroic Update: Kevin Feige Explains Spider-Mans Place In The MCU & The Reference In Ant-Man, Warner Bros. & Fox Announce Comic-Con Panels, New Image Of The ‘Fantastic Four’ Powers Up And So Much More!

Welcome to Heroic Hollywood’s Weekend Update. This is where we cover things we may have missed or things that come out during the weekend. This isn’t like most weekends where there aren’t many stories to drop, today we have a bit of Marvel and DC stories to cover.

Kevin Feige Explains Spider-Mans Place In The MCU & The Reference In Ant-Man

Spider-Man has been the topic of discussion in recent months ever since the Marvel/Sony Deal. The discussions amplified when Tom Holland was cast as our friendly neighborhood hero. Fanboys and Fangirls wanted to know a little bit more about how Spidey will fit into the MCU. They were a little worried that Spider-Man would be included into the MCU, but be self contained due to his ties with Sony.

Kevin Feige calmed those worries in a recent interview with Zap2it

The biggest thing … is that it takes place in this universe, it’s the first time that you’ll be able to see Spider-Man like he was in the comics, as a very different type of hero when compared to the other heroes in the universe.

He then goes on to explain how Holland’s Spider-Man will differ from Garfield’s and Maguire’s Spider-Man films

Up until this point the other Spidey films—some of which are some of the best superhero movies ever made— he was the only hero, and now he’s not. Now he’s a kid from Queens with these powers and has other superheroes to look to.

In the same interview with Zap2it, the Spider-Man reference in Ant-Man that Entertainment Tonight’s John Boone confirmed was brought to Feige’s attention.

That line was old, actually, all that was meant to be very generic.

All this Spidey news makes my senses tingle!

Next up is some Comic-Con news, Warner Bros and Fox announced the times and dates for their Hall H panels. It’s been extremely rumored that WB would have a massive Hall H panel to showcase next years Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad. It’s even been rumored that they’d have something from 2017’s Wonder Woman and Justice League.

This week rumors ran rampant with talks of the entire Justice League showing up at comic con. The Justice League is missing only one member to join the ranks and that’s Green Lantern. This  week Collider and Latino Review reported that we should get a Green Lantern casting announcement at WB’s Hall H panel.

The one thing that was said a lot above was rumor, rumor, rumor. We won’t get anything official until July 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM -12:00 PM PST, which is when WB will hold their Hall H Panel.

In the Fox/Marvel world fox announced that they’ll be coming to Hall H on July 11, 2015 at 5:45PM PST. Fox is expected to showcase Deadpool, Fantastic Four, X-Men Apocalypse, possibly the announced New Mutants and potentially an X-Men/Fantastic Four team up movie.

Sticking in the Fox/Marvel universe a HOT new image of the Fantastic Four powering up hit the web from Augusts issue of Empire Magazine. You can check out the Image Below!

Cara Delevingne who plays Enchantress got a chance to sit down with Empire Magazine(Via Yahoo) and talk Suicide Squad and the sexism of female comic book characters in film. She even took a swipe at Wonder Woman’s fashion decisions. In the interview Delevingne said

There are only three girls in Suicide Squad but in my opinion they have the best roles. Generally though, superhero movies are totally sexist. Female superheroes are normally naked or in bikinis, no one would be able to fight like that. Wonder Woman, how the hell does she fight? She would be dead in a minute.

While Delevingne’s comments are a bit controversial, they intrigue me. I hope that Harley, Enchantress and Katana blow me away.

Collider got a chance to Interview James Gunn at the Saturn Awards this past Saturday. When they asked for an update on Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 Gunn told them that..

It’s a more emotional movie. It’s both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we’ve focused more intensely on some of the characters
