‘X-Men’ Star Hugh Jackman Dons Iconic Yellow Wolverine Suit In Awesome Fan Art

X-Men star Hugh Jackman dons the classic yellow Wolverine suit from the comics in a cool new concept design.

Hugh Jackman officially left the character of Wolverine behind with the 2017 X-Men spin-off movie Logan. Throughout his tenure as Wolverine, fans were hoping to see Hugh Jackman with the classic yellow suit that the X-Men hero wore in the comics. In the bevy of films Hugh Jackman starred in as Wolverine, the Australian actor never donned the yellow suit that made the X-Men so iconic. In fact, Wolverine rocking the yellow suit was teased in a deleted scene from 2013’s The Wolverine, but the whole thing was brushed off as a joke.

While we may never see Hugh Jackman wear the yellow Wolverine suit, digital artist Mizuri has shared artwork that imagines him with the exact suit that propelled the character to stardom. You can check out his fan art featuring Hugh Jackman below.

In the artwork, Hugh Jackman can be seen wearing the yellow Wolverine suit, but he’s also seen rocking a katana, a homage to the character’s relationship to Japan. The costume depicted above is a much more rugged, darker version that X-Men fans are used to, but it’s a welcome change considering the Wolverine films starring Hugh Jackman got darker as they went along. It’s a true shame that we never get to see something like this shown on the big screen but hopefully Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine successor wears something similar when the X-Men hero is integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios, which now holds the film rights to Wolverine and the X-Men following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets, confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during its 2019 San Diego Comic-Con presentation. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Directed by James Mangold, Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Dafne Keen, Patrick Stewart, Stephen Merchant, Boyd Holbrook, and Richard E. Grant. The Wolverine film is available now on Digital HD, 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
