‘Injustice 2’ Prequel Comic & Beta Information Revealed

Injustice 2
The Injustice universe will be getting even larger this April. Before Injustice 2 releases on May 16, the Injustice 2 comic series will deal with the fallout of the first game while setting the stage for the second.

The prequel series will be written by DC Exclusive scribe Tom Taylor and primarily pencilled by Bruno Redondo, but will feature many more artists as well. Both creators previously worked on the first game’s prequel comic, also called Injustice: Gods Among Us, which was critically acclaimed for most of its run. Taylor left the series after “Year 3: Chapter 14” and was replaced by Brian Buccellato for the remaining two years. The series wrapped in September of last year, three years after the game launched.

Redondo and Taylor both had kind words to say about each other and their excitement for the upcoming series. Redondo said:

“We have a similar understanding of the characters, the drama and the humor, which I think helped make the first series so successful. Working in the Injustice universe allows us to do so many things we’re unable to do in any other comic and I can’t wait for fans to see what we have in store for INJUSTICE 2.”

Taylor also gave a hint as to what the ultimate goal of the series will be:

“Our overarching goal is to tell one complete story between the comics and the games. There are a lot less ‘Gods Among Us’ in INJUSTICE 2 than when we started our story, but we hope to join Batman and the world’s finest Super Heroes in cleaning up the mess an evil Superman and his regime left behind.”

Like the previous series, Injustice 2 will be a digital first ongoing before printing twice-monthly beginning in May.

I'm an English student at the University of South Carolina where I am almost always either reading, writing or playing PS4 (unless it's gameday). @jw_outlaw

I’m wondering if DC will make an animated movie of Injustice. Seems like a logical choice.

I’m still maintaining my position that launching this title on consoles only is the stupidest thing they could’ve ever done. Thanks to that, they lost my money, since I despise console gaming and console gamers. Well done Netherrealm. I’d have paid full price, but now I’ll wait and wait till the inevitable PC full edition comes out for 1/4th the price on steam and I’ll buy it on a steam sale to boot.

      Good for you!

I’ve never been a PC gamer, so I can’t really relate to your predicament. But just curious, what’s your grievance with consoles, and console gamers?
