Production is well underway for DC comics Suicide Squad film and what we’ve seen so far of Jared Letos interpretation of The Joker through leaked set photos is quite intriguing. While on break from the set of Suicide Squad to promote the upcoming Terminator: Genisys, Jai Courtney who plays Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad got a chance to sit down with MTV to discuss Suicide Squad.

MTV asked Courtney a bunch of questions including a question about the leaked Suicide Squad set photos. He stated that they all expected it which is the reason they released the official cast photo. Courtney also got to talking about Jared Letos interpretation of The Joker.

When asked if Jared Leto has gone method while playing The Joker, Courtney said

Sort of, I don’t know how you measure that these days. I haven’t seen him, since we started working, out-of-character, let’s put it that way.

This lines up with prior rumors about Letos performance

More on the DC side of things Jesse Eisenberg also had an interview with MTV in which Eisenberg delved out some character info on his portrayal of Lex Luthor..

It’s a really great character. It was written by this guy, Chris Terrio (Argo). He’s a phenomenal writer,” that’s twice in two days that Eisenberg praises Terrio “He comes from a place of character. He loves my character in the same way I love my character. He put a lot of work into
it. It’s a great character. There’s an emotional core to character. It’s not a silly villainous character.

MTV also asked Eisenberg if he looked back on other portrayals of Lex Luthor specifically Gene Hackmans

No, it is an entirely different thing, also, the tone of that movies is so different, like that movie wouldn’t be made now. Like the way we expect movies to be now is to have some kind of – I mean, it’s probably for the best – there’s some kind of psychological accuracy. That the person is coming from a place probably diagnosable in some way.” Eisenberg explained.
