James Gunn Speaks Out On DC & Marvel Fans On Twitter

James Gunn LGBT CharactersJames Gunn has helmed one of the most successful comic book franchises for one of the two largest comic book companies. And he’s sick of fans of both arguing with one another.

In a Twitter thread today, Gunn explained how he felt that DC and Marvel fans have more in common than they are different. Fans who argue with one another over the merits of Batman v. Superman he feels are going nowhere.

Check out Gunn’s thoughts in the thread below:

Gunn wants the fans to make peace, and realize that we all are more alike than we are different. And he has a point, at the end of the day both companies make great films that have elements that stand out to everyone. And that’s something even people as different as Batman and Superman can get behind.

Gunn’s most recent film, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Here is the synopsis:

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Directed by James Gunn, the film stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell.

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

What’s actually behind the debate between DC and Marvel fans is the incompetent representations of superheroes by so-called professionals who’ve never read a comic
