James Gunn Reiterates Thanos Won’t Be In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’; Infinity Stones Won’t Really ‘Be A Thing’

With there being two Infinity Stones still out there, many assumed that we would be introduced to at least one of them in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. However, that seems to not be the case as director James Gunn dismissed this as well as the appearance of a certain supervillain with connections to them in a recent Facebook Q&A. In regards to The Mad Titan popping up in the sequel, Gunn stated the following.

As I’ve said before, Thanos isn’t in this movie. I think he’s gonna have a little bit to do and say when it comes to a certain wars and infinity. We’ve got other fish to fry in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

When the director was asked whether or not we will see the fifth Infinity Stone pop up in the sequel, the director responded that they are “not really so much about the Infinity Stones in Guardians 2. Is that a spoiler? It’s not really a thing.” So, it definitely sounds like the film will definitely be more of a personal standalone story rather than something that is building towards Infinity War. Could we see the next Infinity Stone pop up in this year’s Doctor Strange? Where else  could one of them pop up? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
