See Jared Leto’s Joker Without Tattoos For ‘Suicide Squad’

The Clown Prince of Crime says goodbye to his ink.

A new peice of fan art shows Suicide Squad star Jared Leto as The Joker without his divisive tattoos.

It’s fair to say that Jared Leto’s Joker wasn’t met with a brilliant reception from fans when the David Ayer-directed Suicide Squad hit in theaters all the way back in 2016. And after Joaquin Phoenix’s undeniably brilliant portrayal of Arthur Fleck in the Todd Phillips-directed Joker, it seems that Leto’s take on the character has been forgotten by many, especially after he was left out of Birds of Prey to give Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn the focus she deserved. Leto has since moved on from The Joker, even confirming that he’ll star in Disney’s next Tron film from Garth Davis.

This artwork from a digital artist known as ‘jph_photoshop’ on Instagram gives Jared Leto’s Joker a cleaner redesign that forgoes the ink and pictures him looking more like an eerie crime boss rather than a tattooed gangster. While the Suicide Squad star still has his iconic, vibrant green hair, his eyebrows and eyes match the tone of the DC Extended Universe. He’s also got a neater, brighter smile this time too. In fact, Jared Leto looks a lot closer to the New 52 version of the Joker here. You can see Leto’s Joker without the tattoos below.

What do you think of the redesign for Jared Leto’s Joker in Suicide Squad? Did you enjoy the star’s performance in the role? Are you excited for the sequel by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn? Let us know in the comments section below!

The first film followed a team of supervillains who were recruited by the government for a dangerous black ops mission in exchange for reduced sentences. The ensemble cast included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as The Joker. However, James Gunn is expected to deliver on the fresh take on Task Force X in his upcoming movie.

Written and directed by James Gunn, the upcoming film stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.

The Suicide Squad will be released in theaters on August 6, 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news regarding Jared Leto’s Joker  and the DC Extended Universe, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
