Jason Momoa Teases Big Announcement For ‘Justice League’ SDCC Panel

Aquaman himself may have just given fans a sneak peak at what to expect when the cast of Justice League comes out for the Warner Bros. panel today at 11:30 a.m. (PST) at San Diego Comic-Con. If Jason Momoa’s Instagram post is any indication, it’s going to be something big.

As Momoa generously pointed out in the post below: “I know something you don’t know,” followed by his take on the potential big news. The image shows an empty stage with a giant Justice League banner as the backdrop with our current League of heroes lined up. From left, Cyborg, Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman and Aquaman. But in the background is a noticeable difference from anything else seen in Justice League promotional material — Green Lantern.

Whether or not the former Game of Thrones star is hinting at a major casting announcement for a Hal Jordan or John Stewart role is up for speculation. That’s definitely the biggest attention-grabber on the banner though.

Moderated by Chris Hardwick, the panel will sure to be full of juicy DCEU tidbits, so Momoa hinting at a big announcement that the fans don’t know about isn’t exactly specific. After rumors of Ben Affleck potentially stepping down as Batman in the future spread like wildfire — once again — Friday, Warner Bros. will likely want to shift the topic of conversation and there are a number of announcements/drops that can do the trick.

You can read the synopsis for Justice League below:

“In the wake of Clark Kent/Superman’s (Cavill) death at the hands of Doomsday in BvS, vigilante Bruce Wayne/Batman (Affleck) reevaluates his extreme methods and begins reaching out to extraordinary heroes to assemble a team of crime-fighters to defend earth from all kinds of threats. Together with Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gadot), Batman seeks out cybernetically enhanced former college football star Vic Stone/Cyborg (Fisher), speedster Barry Allen/The Flash (Miller) and Atlantean warrior king Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Momoa). They face off against Steppenwolf (Hinds), the herald and second-in-command to alien warlord Darkseld, who is charged by Darkseid with hunting down three artefacts hidden on earth.”

Justice League, starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amber Heard as Mera, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, opens in theaters on Friday, Nov. 17.
