Jesse Eisenberg Initially Auditioned For A Different Role In ‘Batman V Superman’

When it was announced that Jesse Eisenberg would play Lex Luthor in Batman V. Superman, fans rioted online. Then the first image of Eisenberg in character was released and that squashed some fears. Two images and two trailers later, I still see fans complain about his casting.

New information has come to light and it turns out that Eisenberg didn’t actually audition for the role of Lex Luthor. In Total FIlm’s recent Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice issue, it was revealed that Jesse Eisenberg originally auditioned for a different role. Zack Snyder cast Eisenberg as Lex Luthor after meeting with him because he couldn’t shake off the idea of casting him as Superman’s nemesis. Zack Snyder stated that they looked at “The usual suspects that you’d imagine for Lex”, but ultimately he had Chris Terrio alter the script and cast Eisenberg.

Do you have faith in Eisenberg after finding out that Zack Snyder chose him because he saw something in him? Or are you still on the edge would rather him cast in the role he auditioned for? Sound off in the comment below!
