Joaquin Phoenix, who is the next actor to portray the iconic Batman villain The Joker, is replaced by Jim Carrey in this incredible new image.
Ever since Joaquin Phoenix was announced to play The Joker, most Batman and DC fans were excited to put it lightly. Joaquin Phoenix is no doubt one of most talented actors of his time with impressive performances in films such as Gladiator, The Master, and You Were Never Really Here. It’s clear that Joaquin Phoenix can do a lot to take what Jared Leto did in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad to the next level. It’s possible he could even match Heath Ledger’s performance in 2008’s The Dark Knight.
The Joker itself must be one of the most difficult, but also rewarding roles to take on in Hollywood. With that said, there are plenty of other actors who could take on the role such as Jim Carrey. While most of Jim Carrey’s success is due to his career in the 90s when he became a comedic icon, there is no denying that Jim Carrey would have been an incredible choice to play the Joker. If anything, his performance as The Riddler in Batman Forever, proved that he would certainly be able to play an over-the-top Joker.
The new image below shows how effectively Jim Carrey could replace Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. Check it out below!
