After a publicized appearance on The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, Matt Ryan’s John Constantine will be returning to the series at a later point in time.
ComicBook.com has officially revealed that Constantine will appear later in Season 3 after a tease from actor Nick Zano featured the character hidden in the background:
According to ComicBook.com, they have official confirmation that Constantine will appear in the fifteenth episode of the season, “Necromancing The Stone”. The image above also indicates that the paranormal detective will be involved in the season finale, which is the eighteenth episode — which subsequently implies that other episodes could feature the Hellblazer.
Constantine was previously the lead character of his eponymous show on NBC before it was cancelled unceremoniously after its first season. The show was later retconned into being part of the Arrowverse, which is made up of the likes of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl (the last of which takes place in its own reality), and the character returned in a supporting role on an episode of Arrow. Since then, he’s made two appearances on Legends of Tomorrow, and will get a new animated series via CW Seed.
Legends of Tomorow airs on Monday at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW. The show’s cast includes Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein (Firestorm), Brandon Routh as Dr. Ray Palmer (The Atom), Caity Lotz as Captain Sara Lance (White Canary), Franz Drameh as Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Firestorm), Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Amaya Jiwe (Vixen), Amy Pemberton as Gideon
Tala Ashe as Zari Tomaz, Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Heywood (Steel), Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory (Heat Wave), and Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West (Kid Flash).
