In a recent interview with Jon Bernthal, ABC News got a chance to ask the actor all about how it feels to be cast as Marvel’s Anti-Hero Punisher for Season two of Marvel and Netflix’s hit show Daredevil.

Oh man, it’s just a huge honor to play the part and that’s all I can say about that,

He continued by saying

I’m very thrilled and we haven’t started yet, but I’m very much looking forward to it.

This news is big for Marvel fans as The Punisher is a beloved character. The character was brought the big screen three times with Dolph Lungdren in 1989, Thomas Jane in 2004, and Ray Stevenson in 2008.

Jon Bernthal is mainly recognized for his role on AMC’s hit show The Walking Dead where he played the character Shane during the first two seasons.  He was also recently seen in last year’s Fury co-starring alongside Brad Pitt as well as in the Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street.

It seems as if Bernthal is excited to bring this iconic character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we will all get to see his take on the character sometime in 2016.
