Academy Award-nominated actor Josh Brolin has cemented himself in comic book movie history in just one incredible month. From playing the now-iconic Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War to his entertaining turn as Cable in Deadpool 2, this Summer season is truly shaping up to be the Summer of Brolin.
Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War down below!
In particular, Brolin’s portrayal of Thanos has been universally praised by both critics and audiences alike, given that the film is inarguably focused especially on him. If one were to view the film through the lens of Thanos being the protagonist, seeing him go all the way with his plans in retrieving all six Infinity Stones to wipe out half of all the universe’s existence showcases the levels of his arc.
That’s why the film’s final shot of Thanos sitting down satisfied looking towards the sunset was indicative of the film feeling like its own complete story despite the fact that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy lost the battle.
Brolin recently shared some interesting fan art that implored audiences to check out the film once again:
The artwork shows Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet with all six stones with certain characters standing in as representations of each stone: Loki, Star-Lord, Gamora, Vision, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. Each one of these characters don’t survive the film. Loki, Gamora and Vision all die before Thanos retrieves all six stones while Star-Lord, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man all disappear on Titan after Thanos snaps his fingers.
