Deadline reports Judy Greer has entered talks to join the upcoming Halloween reboot.
Plot details are still under wraps but the film will once again see Jamie Lee Curtis reprise her iconic role of Laurie Strode as she comes face to face with the boogeyman himself, Michael Myers, for her final confrontation with the masked murderer she managed to escape the clutches of on Halloween night 1978. Greer is in talks to play Laurie’s daughter, Karen Strode.
The film is said to carve a new path from the events of the original horror classic. Production on the project is expected to begin this month in South Carolina.
John Carpenter returns to serve as executive producer and creative consultant on the project alongside Jason Blum, with David Gordon Green and Danny McBride exec producing under their Rough House Pictures banner. Malek Akkad will also produce. Green will direct the film from a script co-written by himself and McBride. Universal Pictures will distribute worldwide.
Halloween is a Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions, and Miramax production and is currently slated to hit theaters October 19, 2018. Stay tuned for the latest news on the development of the Halloween franchise as we learn it.
