Julianne Moore Eyed For Villain Role In ‘Kingsman’ Sequel

There were a whole lot of Spy movies in 2015, and while some of them were rather disappointing, there were others which earned widespread critical acclaim, such as Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. One of the best things about the movie was its villain, Richmond Valentine, who was portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson. The actor delivered a great performance and set a very high bar for the person who will fill in his shoes in the follow-up, but it sounds like the studio and the director may have just found the perfect fit for the job.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it appears that Taron Egerton’s Eggsy will be going up against a female villain in the sequel, as the trade has revealed that 20th Century Fox have set their eyes on Academy Award winner Julianne Moore to portray the antagonist in the movie. However, there’s a chance that things might not work out because of her busy schedule, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t be able to find a way around it.

Additionally, the report has revealed that the sequel will take place in the United States, and sadly, it also sounds like Colin Firth won’t reprise his role as Harry Hart, who was one of the standouts from the first movie. Regardless, we should hear more about whether or not Moore will be joining the sequel in the coming weeks, since filming is slated to begin this May for a June 2017 release. What do you guys think?
