‘Jurassic World’ Sequel Will Feature Aquatic Action Sequence

Jurassic World UnderwaterOne of the standout creatures (which wasn’t technically a dinosaur, but rather a gigantic lizard) of Jurassic World was the Mosasaurus, which notably ate a Great White Shark in a cute homage to Jaws and played a big role in the movie’s climactic battle. From the sound of things, we might possibly see it – or some other prehistoric leviathan – play a big part in an action sequence in the film’s sequel.

Kevin Layne recently revealed to CinemaBlend his role in the next movie as a minor character that will have good reason to take the action inside a body of water:

“I read for two parts, and ended up getting the role of ‘submarine pilot’, which was the role I wanted as it is quite an epic scene. So I should have a nice cinematic moment on screen in a massive studio film.”

The actor noted that this is first time working with a CGI-heavy scene (as he confirmed that he’ll be facing off against a prehistoric creature), but he’s looking forward to it all the same.

Jurassic World 2 opens on June 22, 2018. Its cast includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, B. D. Wong, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, James Cromwell, and Geraldine Chaplin.
