I could say the words “Justice League is almost upon us” or something along those lines, but if you’re reading this article, you know what Justice League. What you and most do not know is just how much we are going to get of the new characters’ backgrounds, associated characters and home cities/worlds.
We have seen a fair amount of Atlantis in the last few trailers and teasers, but now thanks to an image originally posted to Reddit by user FrothierBog, we just may get our first look at the cinematic version of The Flash’s home city of Central City. Check our the behind-the-scenes pic below!
Coming from someone who didn’t enjoy Man of Steel or Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it is still pretty exciting to see Zack Snyder working on this movie, albeit from a while ago. Ever since he left the film due to an intense personal situation, fans and critics have been respectful of the director’s wishes, and have looked more closely to the DC team-up movie ever since Joss Whedon took on directing duties. Seeing an image from when Snyder was hard at work on the film, and visibly so happy to be seeing something of long-time DC lore finally being put on screen, its a little touching.
How much of The Flash and Central City we will see is a matter left to the final cut of the film. There have been reports and rumors of multiple characters and storylines changed or cut down or straight up out to make room in the finished cut. We will just have to see in a few short weeks.
Directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds. Here’s the official synopsis:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) enlists newfound ally Diana Prince to face an even greater threat. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash — it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League is in cinemas November 17.
7 Green Lantern Stories We’d Love To See Adapted For The Big Screen
There were no major Green Lantern characters in Justice League, but the hero is eventually set to hit the big screen again in 2020 with Green Lantern Corps. The real mystery is what kind of Lantern stories will the movie have and who will wield a ring? The only thing I know is it’s not a good idea to wait for Ryan “Deadpool” Reynolds to mutter the Green Lantern oath on the big screen anytime soon.
There are so many stories and unique Green Lanterns the movie could draw from, so at the end of the day I hope the material is treated with the respect it deserves. It took some hard work, but I whittled my favorite stories down to this list of seven easily adaptable arc that show off some of the action and emotion Green Lantern has to offer. Don’t expect to recommend any simple origin stories here, though — man-oh-man am I tired of seeing those.
