Yesterday, fans were treated to a brand new batch of photos from Justice League featuring the titular team of heroes facing off against Steppenwolf’s army of Parademons. Now, a sharp-eyed fan has spotted Chernobyl in one of the newly released images, potentially hinting at where the final showdown with Steppenwolf will take place.
Reddit user lensgana examined a photo featuring Wonder Woman and Batman, noting that the images on the monitor in the background showed Pripyat amusement park. Located in Pripyat, Ukraine, the park is situated a few kilometers away from the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. After the Chernobyl disaster, the park was abandoned and became a symbol of the nuclear accident.
Fans have theorized that Chernobyl may play an important role in the film, potentially serving as a location of one of the Mother Boxes or the location of the League’s final showdown with Steppenwolf and his army. The location certainly resembles the area frequently featured in the Justice League trailers and setting the battle in an abandoned power plant would certainly keep casualties to a minimum if the creative team behind the film wants to avoid the criticism directed towards Man of Steel‘s climax.

6 Times The Justice League Came Up Short
The Justice League is comprised of the best and brightest heroes the DC Universe has to offer. When you’ve got Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman all on one team, it’s a hard combination to beat. Despite their combined strength, the Justice League has been taken down quite a few times in their long history.
Over the years, the League has faced all kinds of threats, ranging from a grief-stricken Black Adam on a rampage to an invasion of White Martians. Usually the Justice Leauge is able to overcome these threats, but sometimes they don’t have what it takes to stop evil. Of course, these are comic books and things usually shift back towards the light side in time, but that doesn’t mean darkness can’t win, at least temporarily.
