‘Justice League’: New Photo Of Flash Pays Homage To ‘Superman: The Movie’

Flash-Ezra-MillerPerhaps some eagle-eyed fans caught the reference early on back at comic-con in the trailer for Justice League. But after a new photo of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen (The Flash) surfaced earlier in the week, the homage to Superman: The Movie became undeniable. Granted, most people were focused on the monitors in the background displaying Barry’s suit and an episode of Rick and Morty. As it turns out, a reference to one of the most praised superhero movies of all time was front and center.

In the image, Barry is sporting a red flannel jacket and a green hoodie. Miller’s dark hair, a departure from the blonde Barry everyone knows from the comics, also helps with the comparison to a younger Clark Kent (played by Jeff East). You can see below, that one fan took it upon themselves to show the characters side by side with a countdown to Justice League for those not keeping track of the calendar.

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League will be released in theaters on Nov. 17.
