‘Justice League: Part One’ Cinematographer Announced

Zack Snyder has become known for working with cinematographer Larry Fong, the two most recently worked together on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It has been announced that Fong will not be returning for the upcoming Justice League: Part One.

Replacing Fong will be Fabian Wagner. Wagner is known for his work on the popular HBO series Game of Thrones and Da Vinci’s Demons.

While promoting Batman v Superman, Snyder opened up about moving forward with the DC Extended Universe and how assembling this group of superheroes was unique because Batman will be behind bringing the team together.

“I’m getting ready to start ‘Justice League’ on the 11th of April, so in like two weeks we start shooting,” Synder told Yahoo Movies, “and it’s an intense, awesome, and gigantic undertaking because Bruce [Wayne] is having to go out and sort of ‘Seven Samurai’ the Justice League together, which is fun. It’s slightly monumental, and at the same time they’re starting to grapple with this coming threat.”

Justice League: Part One will be directed by Zack Snyder and Chris Terrio is writing the script. The film is set to be released on November 17, 2017.

So did they actually start filming today?

Also this announcement doesn’t matter much, we all know Snyder focuses on cinematography over all else on his films.

    • Space Voldemort

Yes, his cinematography is some of the best out there.

      • DuelingFates

Too bad his ability to navigate story, characters, and emotions sucks donkey dong.

        • SAMURAI36

You are aware that that’s not Snyder’s job, yes?

    • Lupin

      Yes hes a master director!

      • Carl

Ha ha ha, wait are you serious…

  • KB

Why are they still going through with this?

    • SAMURAI36

Because it’s gonna be awesome, just like MOS and BVS, that’s why.

  • ArtimusGG

Can’t wait for Justice League. The ground work was laid in BvS for them to really explore this universe.

Wait, so is David Goyer out of the picture?

    • Monty

He’s not listed on IMBD for the film.

    • He was out of the picture on BvS. He wrote the original screenplay, then Affleck came on board booted him and brought on Chris Terrio, who then re-wrote everything. But because they worked from a Goyer script, he received credit on the film.

The fact he is gone completely from this one is a blessing.

      • Monty

        I completely agree.

  • JCA

He did the Hardhome episode of Game of Thrones!! I’ll miss Fong but this sounds promising.

    • Lupin

He’s actually better than Fong tbh Tho I love that Fong x Snyder dynamic duo

  • razorstar90

Who cares, as long as Snyder is the director the fate of the Justice League is set. Critics will bash it, fans will argue whether it’s good or garbage, general audience will be lukewarm to is, and it’ll under perform at the box office. Why? Because it’s a Zack Snyder movie and that’s how his movies play out. Every single one of them post 300.

    • Lupin

$800m aint no lukewarm buddy. lol

      • razorstar90

It’s under performing. Where have you been? It’s all over the Hollywood trades. It’s not going to make a profit, and if it does it will be LESS than MOS. Think about that for a second. A movie starring Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in 3D is going to make less than MOS. Not to mention that the last two solo Batman movies not shown in 3D made a BILLION dollars BvS won’t even hit a billion and two solo Batman movies did.

BvS is losing WB money, and the same thing will happen with Justice League because the only thing Snyder delivers is mediocrity.

        • SAMURAI36

Wow, so you are just spouting the same old uninformed internet garbage, without checking to see if it’s true or not. Good luck with that.

  • SuperBuckeye30

Hopefully part one isn’t filled with too much exposition. I’ll be curious as to how he discovers Atlantis and Aquaman (unless he sets a trap that draws Aquaman out). Seems like a tough place to go recruit if he has to do it underwater.

This is amazing news, this cinematographer is one of the best in the biz. he might actually be better than fong! his resumé includes – Sherlock, The White Queen, Da Vinci’s Demons and Game of Thrones., The Legend of Barney Thomson and Victor Frankenstein.
He has done a lot of period pieces and fantasy work! LET THAT SINK IN. #ThereWillbeJUSTICE #JUSTICEIsComing

  • jollybrah

Pretty sad to see Fong go, his Cinematography in BvS was incredible. Hopefully Fabian can impress!

    • SAMURAI36

Fong said he would be back at some point, though.
