Karl Urban Would Like To See A Female Thor Movie

Karl Urban Skurge ThorThe cast and director of Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok are currently promoting the highly-anticipated entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the film’s newcomers is Karl Urban, who plays Skurge in the movie.

The MCU has many great female characters but these strong heroines have been featured within the team setting such as the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Although comic book films are on the brink of female-led stories after the success of Wonder Woman, some are questioning what characters can be brought to life on the big screen in their own standalone outing.

In an interview with Monkeys Fighting Robots, Urban was asked about the prospect of having a movie centered on a female Thor, who has been seen in recent Marvel comics. In regards to the possibility, Urban is interested:

“I think it’s time and I think it’s overdue. Absolutely. Yeah, I’d like to see that movie. Why not? I think they’re getting a female Captain America, aren’t they?”

Urban was corrected regarding the Captain America comment, since he was thinking of Captain Marvel which will star Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson in the titular role.

Urban is not the only cast member of Thor: Ragnarok expressing interest in more female-led films in the MCU. Tessa Thompson recently spoke about wanting to have a film featuring the heroines of the MCU at the center of the story.

The lack of imagination some hollywood types have is stunning.

Lazy lazy lazy, if it ever happened, and it probably won’t.

Write some good female superheroes if you must, but don’t be lazy and change existing ones to the other gender(it annoys people, me included).
