See Karl Urban Replace Hugh Jackman In ‘X-Men: Evolution’ Wolverine Suit

'The Boys' star steps into his own superhero costume in the design.

Karl Urban Wolverine Hugh Jackman X-Men

The Boys star Karl Urban dons the X-Men: Evolution Wolverine costume in a new concept design that sees him replacing Hugh Jackman as the Marvel hero.

It’s been three years since we last saw Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in James Mangold’s Logan, and now that Disney has acquired the rights to Fox’s comic book characters, it’s only a matter of time before we see mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although there are other heroes on the team that should probably get the spotlight before Wolverine, this fan art imagines The Boys star Karl Urban wearing a costume inspired by the classic X-Men: Evolution animated series.

Karl Urban is currently bringing superheroes to justice on The Boys, and this fan edit shows him wearing an X-Men: Evolution-inspired outfit to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. For fans that aren’t familiar with the animated series, it swaps out the typical yellow and blue design for a much more tactical look. The artwork from digital artist ‘get2dachopra’ on Instagram does just that, giving Urban an impressively sleek outfit. Also, is that Hulk in the background? That would be an interesting way of introducing a new Wolverine, especially since Mark Ruffalo already said he’d like to see the two heroes face off against each other.  Since the MCU will likely try and bring a completely fresh take on the X-Men to offer a new direction following the Fox era of movies, it wouldn’t be surprising if they provide an equally unique look for the team. You can see Karl Urban replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine below.

What do you make of the X-Men: Evolution-inspired look for Karl Urban’s Wolverine? Is The Boys star a worthy successor to Hugh Jackman? Do you like the X-Men: Evolution suit? How should the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduce mutants? Let us know in the comments!

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
