A new design sees Keanu Reeves replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for the MCU, but with a brilliantly inspired John Wick twist on the mutant hero.
It’s fair to say that the world has fallen in love with Keanu Reeves all over again in the last few years, as his fan-favorite roles alongside his lovable demeanor has made him a pop culture icon. He’s also one of the names that always pops up when fans discuss their ideal candidates for the next star to pick up Wolverine’s Adamantium claws for the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Hugh Jackman. Reeves previously admitted that he’s always had his eye on the mutant role, but thinks the time has passed for his chance to become the MCU’s Wolverine.
But a new design from notable artist Bosslogic replaces Hugh Jackman with Keanu Reeves as the MCU’s Wolverine in the impressive art that also makes a brilliant John Wick joke. Instead of wielding the Adamantium like Hugh Jackman did for so many years, this art gives Reeves three pencils in place of the claws, making a joke about the “I once saw him kill three men in a bar… with a pencil!” line from the John Wick universe. The star also recently opened up on how long he’d like to play the famous assassin, and it sounds like he’s here to stay. Take a look at Reeves replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for the MCU below.
