Marvel Studios presented a first look at the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 during San Diego Comic Con 2016 but the footage that was shown was only for those in Hall H. Fans have been wondering when we would be able to get a look at what was shown.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hinted at when audiences might be able to see a trailer and gave more details about Baby Groot. Does Groot still have all of his memories from the first film?

“He remembers. He’s not mentally a baby, he is still Groot… I sort of equate it to Spock circa the end of Search for Spock and The Voyage Home.”

Groot and Rocket Raccoon became breakout stars of the first film and Feige assured fans that relationship will still be a focal point for Vol. 2.

“When it comes to a Guardians of the Galaxy film, a James Gunn script, it’s not just about the funny, it’s not just about the action, it’s about the heart. And the amount of heart that you get out of this trash panda raccoon and now this little twig baby Groot is actually awe-inspiring. It is amazing what he’s done with those two characters.”

As for when the trailer might be shown, Feige indicated that it would mostly likely be in front of the next Marvel property, that being Doctor Strange.

After the incredible success of its predecessor, James Gunn returns to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, Elizabeth Debicki and Kurt Russell.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
