With Thor: Ragnarok hitting cinemas next month with positive buzz surrounding it, Kevin Feige hopes to develop another Marvel project with director Taika Waititi.
When speaking with ScreenRant, Feige said he would love to work with Waititi again once the next six Marvel films are out:
“Well, we’ll see. I would love, love, love to work with Taika again and I have every confidence that we will. What we’re working on right now is the next six movies. The next six movies that will bring us to Untitled Avengers in May 2019, which carries off a lot of what you see in this movie. In some cases very directly, and continues to build and grow.”
Seeing as Marvel wants to focus more on the cosmic side of the MCU with James Gunn, one could assume that Waititi could be a part of that.
Feige went on to praise Waititi’s visual and narrative style and how he was greatly influenced by the late Jack Kirby:
“Jack Kirby has been an influence on every Marvel movie we’ve ever made, because he built the Marvel Universe with Stan, Steve Ditko, and the whole gang there. But this movie, and coincidentally being the 100th year anniversary of Jack Kirby’s birth, we really wanted to be that unabashed love letter… When talking to the art department, and saying, ‘Oh look at that, it really should be like this,’ looking at Jack Kirby costumes and background panels, and the art department doing something inspired by it. And then Taika going ‘No, no. Do this! [referencing exact Kirby art]’ And that’s why you have, it’s direct to translation of Kirby’s artwork which hasn’t been seen in a movie before.”
Visually, Thor: Ragnarok looks gorgeous, with its visuals being one of the biggest praises.

5 Reasons We’re Excited For ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is out on home media and Spider-Man: Homecoming has been playing in theaters for a while now, so it’s time to look forward to the next Marvel movies, the first being Thor: Ragnarok.
The trailer for the film is incredible. The vibe, the action, the set-design, the soundtrack, every element of the trailer screams, “This is a different kind of Thor movie.”
And that’s exactly what we need. Thor: The Dark World was the most easily forgettable Marvel sequel, only distinguishable from the original for its use of fan-favorite villain Loki. Thor: Ragnarok looks poised to switch up the formula, seeming more like a fun intergalactic romp than a brooding space epic.
Judging from the trailer and other positive buzz, there’s plenty of cause to be excited for Thor: Ragnarok. Here are the 5 reasons why. Click next to get started!
