Kevin Smith Thinks ‘Deadpool’s Tim Miller Should Direct ‘The Flash’ Movie

Kevin Smith should be taken seriously when he gives his recommendations as to who should direct different properties for DC. Smith is an outspoken comic enthusiast who cares about the characters so much he named his own child after one.

Past work aside, Smith is known for directing one of the most outstanding episodes of The Flash television show, season 2’s “The Runaway Dinosaur” (as well as the upcoming season 3 “Killer Frost” episode), so his opinion should hold some weight with fans.

On the most recent episode of Fatman on Batman, Smith’s fanboy podcast, he suggest that Deapool‘s Tim Miller should replace ex-Flash director Rick Famuyiwa for the scarlet speedster’s first solo film outing.Tim Miller (who was officially replaced by director David Leitch two days ago) walked away from Deadpool 2 just less than a month ago, and The Flash lost Famuyiwa ironically around the same time. It’s almost as if it were meant to happen.

According to Smith, he thinks that Miller should be the man to bring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen to life on the silver screen. He’s so for the idea that he even suggested Miller go out of his way to call up WB himself. WB would have to be crazy to turn down such a good idea.

The Flash has gone through a few directorial changes, starting with Christopher Miller and Phil Lord as the first pair considered for directing. Then, after they backed out, Rick Famuyiwa stepped in. It seemed like he was completely on board, even casting Dope star Kiersey Clemons as Barry’s love interest, Iris West. It came as a complete surprise to fanboys everywhere to hear that he parted ways with the project.

Now, all Smith has to do is suggest himself, and I would probably be even more on board. Do you think Kevin Smith’s idea for Tim Miller to direct The Flash is a good one? Make sure to let us know your thoughts down in the comments.

Jack of some trades, master of some others. That saying never really made a lot of sense to me.

I think so too, or maybe Adam Wingard (to redeem himself for Blair Witch)

I don’t think he’s going to want to direct someone else’s vision. He should get in on the ground floor of another project. Maybe Green Lantern or a new Marvel character.
