Production for the third Marvel Netflix series, Luke Cage, has begun which will star Mike Colter (The Good Wife) as Marvel’s famous Power Man. However, Colter will be first seen on Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter, which comes out in November before he kicks off his own show.
It appears however that a big key player from Jessica Jones will be featured in one way or another on Luke Cage as Latino Review reports that David Tennant (Doctor Who) has been spotted on the set as the Marvel villain Kilgrave a.k.a. the Purple Man. This revelation most likely means that Tennant’s Kilgrave will make it out alive after the first season of Ritter’s show and have some capacity on Colter’s series. Unless Tennant is there to just shoot a flashback sequence.
It doesn’t come as a big surprise as Jessica and Luke are connected in many ways in the comics, including sharing similar rogue gallery. More crossovers are likely to happen within the Marvel Netflix franchise and there will probably be more information about that at New York Comic Con where Marvel Television is set to have a large presence there next week.
Marvel’s Luke Cage is set to come out on Netflix in 2016. Catch Mike Colter as Luke Cage on Marvel’s Jessica Jones, which will be available for streaming on November 20 on Netflix.
