Colin Firth’s Return In ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Was Always Planned

Kingsman
Kingsman: The Secret Service stunned audiences when Colin Firth’s Harry Hart was unambiguously killed off before the final act of the film. When the promotional material for sequel revealed that Colin Firth would be reprising the role, many fans presumed the decision to bring Harry back was made because the character proved to be too popular to omit from the second film. However, Firth recently revealed to Screen Rant that discussions about bringing him back for Kingsman: The Golden Circle were already underway before the first film was released.

Firth explained that talks about reprising his role as Harry Hart had begun after the first Kingsman completed filming:

“The conversation never really stopped. I feel like… the first shoot was a long one and then conversations were carrying on after the film was finished and before I knew it, it was coming out and we were doing press together and by that point we were already talking about number two and Matthew [Vaughn] had pretty much made up his mind that I would could back one way or another. So it feels like one long continuous process really.”

Kingsman: The Secret Service introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, The film stars Taryn Egerton, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, Vinnie Jones, Sir Elton John and Halle Berry.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released in theaters on September 22, 2017.

5 Millarworld Projects Netflix Should Develop First

Millarworld
With news breaking that Neflix has purchased Millarworld, comic book fans have a lot of new digital content to look forward to. Mark Millar, the man whose work on The Ultimates inspired the on-screen depiction of the Avengers, has a huge cabal of books that explore distinct aspects of comic book archetypes. Not only will Netflix create content based off of the Millarworld catalog, but they will continue to publish new comic series as well.

Unfortunately, Kick-Ass and Kingsman, the two most successful franchises in Millarworld, are not part of the deal. While fans of the movies may be unhappy, I think every Millarworld project on this list has huge potential to capture the hearts of fans around the world. Millar’s unique mix of action, satire and heart distinguish his stories from everything else on the shelves, and I’m beyond excited to see what Neflix can whip up. Some of his books can work as movies, but some will work better as mature television programs, so I’m happy that Millarworld teamed up with Netflix instead of a traditional media company like Lionsgate or Sony.
