‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Adds Peter Francis James

Comicbook.com reports that Peter Francis James has joined the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. James will play Dr. Aldus Boardman, an original character created specifically for the TV show. Just like Casper Crump’s Vandal Savage, Boardman will make his debut in this year’s crossover episode of The Flash and Arrow, before reprising the role in the superhero spin-off show, Legends of Tomorrow, which is set to premiere sometime in midseason 2016.

Here’s the official character description by Warner Bros. TV (via Comicbook.com).

A Classics professor at St. Roch University, who has devoted his life to researching the story of Chayara (Hawkgirl) and Prince Khufu (Hawkman) and their link to Vandal Savage. Professor Boardman is our team’s only hope of finding Vandal and destroying him, so they can return home. But when the Legends learn a secret about Boardman, they insist on making him a part of their journey, only to learn the kind of sacrifice it will take to save the world.

James’ previous work includes roles in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, NBC’s Law & Order, USA Network’s Royal Pains and The Losers, an adaptation of Vertigo’s comic book series.
